E.L.I.T.E. with Memphis Soul
After launching the blog, I realized I probably should’ve done some research on how to start a blog. So, I listened to a few podcasts and read a few articles. The common advice? Be authentic, unique, and consistent. All great points. I had already planned to be authentic and unique since most of the blog is centered around my personal experiences and the journey toward becoming E.L.I.T.E.
But consistency? That one made me pause. After giving it some thought, I’ve decided to commit to publishing three times a week—Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The one piece of advice that kept coming up in every podcast and article, though, was about monetizing the blog. Even the platform I use to publish is constantly asking, “Don’t you want to monetize your blog?”
At first, I thought, sure—who doesn’t want a little extra income? But something about it didn’t sit right with me. This blog is meant to be a genuine space to share my journey to E.L.I.T.E. with you all. The idea of bombarding you with Google ads for the latest movie or trying to convince you to be E.L.I.T.E. by buying a specific water bottle or yoga mat just didn’t feel authentic.
So, in the words of the great poet from Memphis, Tennessee, GloRilla (and I’m paraphrasing here): “This blog will be F-R-E-E. I just want to hang out the window with my blog friends, Let’s go!”
My intention is to keep this blog free, accessible, and authentic for anyone who’s interested in joining me on this journey to becoming E.L.I.T.E. Let’s grow together, without the pressure of ads, product pushes, or subscriptions.
